README FOR ISP CONNECTION TESTER SOFTWARE ========================================= This is `testcnx', a bit of software that polls your ISP (or any other purpose in life, actually) throughout the day, to measure reachability information in terms of drop rate and timing. In other words, this is ping, but it has been web-enabled ;-) This software starts a daily routine of pinging the selected server throughout the day, with one-minute intervals. It counts and digests accordingly to what ping does. The information is recorded in a database file which is processed by a pair of cgi-bin programs written as bash scripts. The cost? Your machine will be doing a minimal amount of work every minute. A continuous connection to the Internet is assumed.
